sister and I spent my Easter Sunday at the hospital. My
mother has
definitely had a stroke which the neurologist said may be still
evolving, has periods of non-responsiveness, congestive heart failure,
and other problems. She is 86 and has been very feisty up to this
point. Please keep her in your prayers.

Once again I am turning to
our Cursillo family for prayers and sacrifices.
A parishioner from St. Margaret Mary, Doug Loftus has been admitted
into
Florida Hospital after having a seizure early this morning.
Currently he
is on a Ventilator because he is not breathing on his own, though I’m
not
sure if the ventilator is a precaution due to the doctors drug induced
sleep.
Doug and his wife Tammy are school teachers in the Orange County School
System;
Doug is the Principle of Corner Lake Middle School located out in
Chuluota. A
few years ago Doug was diagnosed with a brain tumor after fighting
months of excruciating
headaches. The tumor was removed and he has had little problems
since,
until last night! They have two girls Emily (15) and Caly (14)
please
pray for this beautiful family. Doug and his
family are truly humbled Christians who have great faith, please pray
and lift them
up, pray that this cross be removed from their load. God Bless.

A prayer request from Linda Croy:
Thank-you for your prayers. My
mother was diagnosed with COPD over 14 years ago.
The emphysema has developed over
the years and has caused
complications with the heart and lungs. In addition, they
found that
she has two brain aneurysms this week. She needs two stents,but
the
doctor dosen't want to do anything with that until they find out what
the mass on her lung is going to do. The mass is small (1.3cm) and
too
close to the heart. So the doctor decided not to do a biopsies yet and
released her from the hospital this evening with a follow up in a
week
for a different test. Then three weeks from that appointment she will
get another CTScan to see how much or if the small mass in her
lung has
developed and take it from there. This will continue to be monitored
and if it doesn't show any growth, they will probably go through with
the two stents procedure three months from that.

Hello all,
I just received an email
from a very close friend of my wife,
Cristina, and I about a serious illness her husband is facing.
They
have been keeping things quiet since he began seeing a doctor last
spring and back in December he was diagnosed with ALS, also known as
Lou Gehrig's disease. There is no cure and the prognosis is 3 to 5
years. Although he is almost a year into signs of the disease, the
doctors feel he is at a very early stage in the progression. He has
some slurred speech and trouble with his left hand. He is also having
headaches and difficulty sleeping. Between the pain and his fears and
concerns he is having a tough time of it. His wife, Rebecca, reached
out today to a few very close friends and family asking for prayer
support from those of us who pray and any medical info from anyone in
the medical profession. I am reaching out to all of you, my Christ
Renews His Parish and Cursillo brothers and sisters for prayers and any
hope or info you might have for my friends. Sandy, Rebeccas' husband,
is a very gregarious, vibrant soul. He is the type of person who lights
up a room with his attitude and his smile. It is very difficult to
think of him going through a disease that will rob him of that. Please
pray for God to watch over the Crespo family, Sandy, Rebecca, their
daughter Christina and their young son Christopher who is only 10 (he
is my son Alex's best friend since nursery school, that's how our
families became friends).

was operated on for a hip replacement last Monday at Winter

and skull. His daughter, Marcy, is asking all who know Chet

great sadness that I tell you that baby Anna Grace Balabanski was born
today at 1PM but did not sustain life. She was a perfectly formed
little angel of God weighing only 16 oz and being only 11 inches long.
Andrea and I were
able to hold her
and touch her soft little hands
and feet and make the sign of the cross on her soft forehead. She was
baptized and I can tell you that she most certainly is with God this
day.While Andrea held Anna Grace on the foot of Melanie’s bed with her
father, and grandparents around her we read this Psalm:

I just wanted to let you all know that
Melanie was
admitted to Winnie Palmer Hospital (room B5200) on
November 4th
She was having contractions and the baby is in distress. Her
amniotic
fluid is critically low and the blood flow to Anna has showed some
troubling
results.
They are calling her nephrologist (kidney
doctor) and
seeing if she can have steroids to mature the baby's lungs. She
will need
72 hours for the maximum effect. She is constantly being
monitored and it
will be touch and go over the next few days until they make the
decision they
need to deliver Anna C-section.
Please keep up the prayers for Melan, Nick
and Anna;
we know you have been diligent so far in lifting them up and thank you
for
that.

Their daughters Laura Milton and Hailey Zielinski were in a serious car
accident in the Jacksonville area
early this morning. Laura has been treated and released from the

An update on Larry Mosley:
I spoke with Larry's wife Temple
yesterday and he does have cancer. Apparently it is in one of his
lungs and it putting pressure on his bronchial tube.
The prayers we sent were felt.
Temple told me that she felt an amazing calm as they discussed it
with the doctor. As I stated before, Larry is a
beautiful part of our Catholic Family
and his wife stays active in the movement.
There is hope, and hope does not
disappoint. Please keep Larry, Temple, and their families' active
in your prayers.

Jennifer
Pimenta Donohue is continuing to improve. They have taken all
machines but the respirator. They have that set on the lowest
setting, just to keep her comfortable. She continues to be
sedated, but not as heavily. Indy Charles, Jen's son, is
still at Winnie Palmer and doing fine. He will probably go to
Sharon's by the end of this week. Mike has "paternity
leave". What a blessing that is. Please continue to
pray. If anyone can get through this, it's Jen.

pray for Jennifer Pimenta Donohue (Sharon & Charlie's daughter) who
had a baby recently. The baby is healthy; however, Jen had
complications after the C-Section. She had to have a hysterectomy
& is in very serious condition. She is now at ORMC in the
burn & trauma unit. It is truly touch and go. Jen
suffered a global stroke several years ago & it was discovered that
she has a blood clotting disorder - Factor 5. Her son's birth is
a miracle, now we are praying for another one.

year old daughter Aidan needs our prayers.
Aidan is being re-admitted into the Hospital. Aidan's last diagnosis is
nephrotic syndrome, her kidney's are not functioning properly. This is
causing her to retain fluids and swell. Her body is not responding to
the steroids prescribed to correct the problem, and she continues
swelling and is having difficulty breathing. This has been going on for
two weeks now and has put alot of strain on their family.
Please pray for them and Aidan.

Mike Farrell, Pastor of Divine Mercy Church. He was in a pedestrian/car
accident recently and is in Holmes Regional Hospital in Intensive Care.
He has suffered a broken pelvis and a broken arm. Please join the
congregation of Divine Mercy as we pray for his recovery. The Diocese
has been helpful to provide priests for weekend masses, daily masses,
funerals, weddings, etc.. We have no associate priest, so we have been
graciously helped by neighboring parishes. Your prayers during this

I just wanted to give you all
an update on my brother-in-law. All of your prayers were definately
heard! Mike came out of his surgery with
flying colors. What was suppose to be a 4 hour surgery ended up only
being an hour and a half. AND, they only had to do a triple bipass
instead of a quadruple. Evidently a part of his heart that they thought
was damaged was only stunned. The doctors said that he will be better
than new!
My
sister asked me to thank everyone for their prayers. She truly
appreciates each and every one of you for lifting them up in prayer.
She said she feels like she is a true witness to God's miracles, and
she felt everyone's prayers as she had so many moments of clarity! This
has been an amazing close moment for our entire family!
I too
would like to thank all of
you for praying and passing the news on for others to pray. I knew that
Christ's healing hands were upon us and Mike would survive this ordeal.
He had so many wonderful people praying for him! Thank you all again! I
am humbled by the love and support that this amazing community gives.
You all are truly God's disciples!

My
dear brothers and sisters,
Could
you all please keep my brother-in-law, Mike Barnes, in your prayers. He
suffered a heart attack Monday morning and will be going
through quad-bipass surgery at 8:00AM this morning. He has 95%
blockage on one side of his heart and 75% on the other. He is in NHC
Downtown Naples as he was airlifted there from Key West.
Mike
is a wonderful Christian man who does not drink or smoke. His biggest
vice is ice cream! He is very fit as he is a retired firefighter and is
now a fisherman who sells lobster and stone crab to local markets and
restaraunts down in the Keys.
My
sister feels very confident that God is with them, and the Holy Spirit
is keeping her together. She told me that Mike was suppose to be out on
his boat pulling traps but a problem with his lift kept him home
waiting for a part to come in. She happened to be home that morning
too. He refused to let her call an ambulance (They live 24 miles from
Key West). She got to just outside of Big Coppitt Key and pulled over
because he appeared to get worse. She called OnStar and they directed
her to the Big Coppitt Fire and Rescue which was just around the corner
from where she pulled over. Almost as soon as she got there, he
collapsed and they rushed him into the ambulance to work on him. She
didn't know until later, but they lost him twice and shocked him back
with the paddles. Debbie (my sister) said that she feels like God
didn't give her all those circumstances that saved his life thus far to
just take him away, so she is very at peace that he will recover.
I
ask that you pray not only for Mike, my sister and family, but that you
pray for all of the doctors, sugeons, and nurses who are caring for him.

dear Uncle Frank Uhlhorn went to be with our Lord in the early morning
hours of March 17th. His daughters were at his side at the home in
Baltimore where he grew up. Frank Uhlhorn was 91 years old, lived a
full and wonderful life. He will be missed by all his family.

Please pray for Hunter Lopez, the subject of the following update from
his father:
Every
one has been amazing. the prayers are working. I can feel
it. Never
have I joined a group like this one. I am eternally grateful to
you
all.
Hunter
has a long way to go. I pray that God continues to show his
goodness .
Hunter will have surgery on Wednesday. With God's help, he will
be
able to live a normal life. The ligaments that attach the spine
to the
head have been torn. They will take a piece of one of his ribs
and use
that to seed bone growth between the top of his spine and the base of
his skull. The upside will be he can have a normal life but will
have
limited head mobility. It is dangerous surgery because of his
tenuous
condition. His head is basically detached at the spine. The
slightest
wrong move will result in paralysis.
He
has lost the function of one of his kidneys. Thank you God for
giving
him 2. There is some concern about his pancreas. This is
serious. We
are hoping and praying that it will heal. His liver is
bruised. One
of his lungs slightly collapsed but seems to be doing okay.
Hunter
Scott Meredith will be 10 in May. He was born premature by 4
weeks.
He likes to give us scares. He was petite but he turned out
okay. As
a small child, he had some growths on hs head in the scalp area.
They
removed them surgically to see if they were cancerous. Again, God
was
just making sure we were paying attention to this guy. They were
benign.
I
have endless love for my oldest grandchild. He inspires me to be
better. He is kind to all and is a constant prankster.
Everyone loves
him.
God
allow me to enjoy this child and in your infinite mercy, please bestow
his pain upon me so that this child can live to serve you further.

Many thanks for all of your prayers for Jo Woodward and her
family. Jo has been discharged from the hospital, and she is at
home. As far as we know, they were able to remove the entire
tumor - she'll know for sure when she has a follow-up visit with
the surgeon. She will not be able to drive for about 6 months,
but she should be able to return to work in about
6 - 8 weeks. Jo is one of the most positive people I've met

I have an emergency prayer request for my good friends, John &
Brenda Shultz. They just had a new baby on Sunday and had to take him
back to the hospital yesterday with a high fever. Today baby Drew is in
ICU, on a ventilator and has a feeding tube and IV’s. He has some
kind of infection but they aren’t sure if it is viral or bacterial.

I just got news of an eighth grader, Chelsea Striby from Good
Shepherd who was in a car accident Friday night. Her sister
Lauren was driving. Chelsea was put into an induced coma for
brain swelling and the next hours throughout today are crucial.

catheter procedure done tomorrow. She is only 47 and has develop a

problem. Of course, we don't know to what extent yet. She's been a
diabetic
since she was 9 years old, and I'm paying there won't be any

as the heart cath is now considered to be a "routine" exam...and then
there's
the prognosis.

its going to be a difficult time. He is 3 years old and has been
thru
so much already in that short span.... various things but the biggest
is
that he was born with a club foot that has been managed with various
techniques (casting, bracing, physical therapy, had a more minor
surgery at 3 months)
but now he needs this major surgery (they are completely removing and
reattaching tendons and all other fun stuff..). then last summer
we found a tumor in his arm that is not a big deal now but could bring
pain and movement issues later in life, and could even possibly turn
malignant. So while he is under the orthopedist will remove
that too.....

When Bill first had his heart cath. the doctor told him that he needed
open heart surgery but thought it would not be necessary for another
year
to year and a half. However, after he had the nuclear stress test
the
doctor said it needs to be done right away. Bill has an
appointment
with the surgery at 8 AM tomorrow to set a date. Hopefully
sometime
this week or next. I think once you know you have to have it,
then
the quicker the better. There is a lot of strain on the heart
(and
mind) the longer you wait and worry.

I just got off the phone with Carrie Rowland Nason. Jim and I
sponsored her on LVDC #10. She also worked with Jim at World
Color and is still working for the company that bought out World Color
- Quebecor. Last Friday she went to the doctor because she didn't
feel good and found out she
has advanced lung cancer which means it has spread to her lymph nodes
and
other places. She is desperate to find the right treatment and is

Jim Davis is in ICU at ORMC-Orange Ave. He is
paralyzed with Gillian’s Berre blood disease. The doctors are
working very hard to find the right mix of medication and treatment to
cure him. Anything is possible with God in His time. We
need ALL of your prayers and continued support for Jim, Mary his wife
and their children.

A fellow Cursillista, Bob Pittman (wife Bernadette) was in a
major auto accident on SR 520 in Cocoa. He is presently in
surgery to stabilize the smashed femur in his left leg. He also
has two broken metacarpul in his left hand. He has a slight
concussion but no brain or spinal cord injuries, thank God.
Recovery will take around 10 months. Please keep Bob and
Bernadette in your prayers.

Please pray for Frank Gidus, who recently had major heart surgery. He
has been home from the hospital for two weeks and is on the road to
recovery. Frank is a long time Cursillista who is responsible for many
of the successes of the Movement here in the Diocese and throughout the
